Nullstar.io Launch

Nullstar.io is a massively-multiplayer Asteroids-style game for desktop web browsers.

It is free to play, with no download or registration at https://nullstar.io

It's a casual game that is easy to learn, without any complicated menus or ship upgrade paths.

There are multiple servers and each server can support dozens of players from anywhere in the world.

You can also play in a solo practice mode vs AI ships.

There is no sound.

Controls
Use keyboard controls (WADS or arrows) to steer your ship through a dangerous asteroid field.
Collect "stardust" crystals to power your ship. 

Destroy the asteroids (using Space or Shift) to release more stardust.

Hyperspace away from danger using the H key.

Your ship is equipped with:

• Auto-upgrade uses stardust to make your ship grow bigger and stronger
• Auto-repair uses stardust to repair damage
• Basic gun to mine asteroids (or defend from native UFOs or other ships)
• Hyperspace emergency escape to a random place
• Interia-less drive to navigate free from gravity

Goal
The game is endless, and there is no set goal. However there are some hidden features that only very large ships will be able to find.

While fighting other ships is certainly an option, it's not required. Cooperation is also a viable strategy.

Development
The idea for Nullstar.io was to combine classic Asteroids-style gameplay in a vast Slither.io style world. While there are many other multiplayer asteroid games, the goal here was to make one that is simple and accessible. 

This is my second big project in Unity and my first MMO game.

Future

If the web version is popular enough, I will release mobile iOS and Android versions as well. Those will allow P2P play over LAN.

If there is demand, I will make a desktop version as well, and let folks run their own servers.

And I may end up expanding the game and adding new features, or even making a sequel.
